Born Again ~ Conception
The very title 'Born Again' probably evokes instant thoughts of Christian revival and many such similar mental images. To be fair many of the lyrics probably do have, what could be considered a Christian message influenced by my own personal beliefs, but in a broader sense songs like 'Born Again', 'Good News', 'Hole In The Road' and 'So This Is Life' simply express positivity and optimism sadly lacking in the world today.
The conception of the album started with the title track 'Born Again' which was inspired by the passing of two musicians I had worked with in the past and the history we had which was peppered with good and bad memories; it would be fair to say that both these guys had no problem screwing me over to get themselves ahead and as the line in the song says: 'All is fair in love and rock & roll', so I guess they taught me much about human nature, trust and how mercenary the music business can be. So I thank them for that and the few good memories I have of them.
'Say goodbye departed friends, we'll never take the stage again, the past is just a jaded memory' are the opening words that took me to the hook-line 'I'm born again' which is exactly how I felt; life's too short to carry someone else's baggage and their passing made me somewhat grateful for the time I have left; it was the shove I needed to re-energize as a musician and move forward in a new and positive way...

I had a lot of fun working on the album over approximately 6 months and the video shoot was a bit of lighthearted fun at the end; for some reason people often listen with their eyes and although basic, this video is definitely the best in it's price range...
'Born Again' drops on January 1 2025 and you can hear a few preview tracks on this site as well as see a few promo clips on Youtube, Facebook, Instagram and Tik-Tok which is a new thing for me but another avenue to explore...
