As my 5th studio album,'Face The Music' is about to drop, go live or as we used to say, get released I have thought about what it is, what it means to me and where do I go from here.

I guess I have learned a lot from brother-in-law Michael Graham on how to separate different sounds, mix, master and finish an album and that process has given me a very different and fresh perspective on music as I have known it. Michael has worked with some of the top names in music when he was Chief Producer at the Lodge Studios in Indianapolis so I am very lucky and grateful for his input.

Having said that the experience of the last album made me want more from myself and the music I create.

So, I am taking a break to listen, study and learn as much as I can in order to grow as a person, as well as a musician, with the ultimate goal of producing much better music in the future.

I had toyed with the idea of performing some live shows but the very recent passing of my former keyboard player, Pete Gillette, opened up a raft of memories of how in the past bringing in other musicians can complicate life; although the last show I did with Pete in 2009 was pretty smooth and routine, the thought of pulling together a show with the possibility of 'band politics' clouding the experience has put me off, for now anyway...

Peter Gillette 1944 - 2024

RIP Pete you taught me much about music and the chemistry of musicians good and bad...

For the next several months I am hitting the gym, studying, writing and recording as well as spending quality time with my wife, kids and granddaughter...

I hope you enjoy 'Face The Music', stay tuned, keep following and catch up in the future; I am sure what is to come will be worth the effort...

Onwards and Upwards and see you all online...
